Troop 17
Alamance District
Old North State Council
During this very unusual time, we are working hard to support the "at home" scouting experience. We will be communicating via our Troop Email List and working via weekly Virtual Meetings. For help with recommended Merit Badges and Rank Requirements, please visit our Advancement Page for lots of great information.
Please stay safe and we are looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent, values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For nearly a century BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
Why Troop 17?
Our goal is to mentor youth in responsible citizenship, character development, faith and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities and educational programs. For younger members, the Scout method is part of the program to mentor typical Scouting values such as trustworthiness, good citizenship, and outdoors skills, through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, hiking and adventure. At older age levels, we encompass career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations.
